Whisper Doll Share New Single "So Sweet" Ahead of Lucky Clover

New York City indie pop band Whisper Doll have released their new single, "So Sweet," the latest preview of their upcoming album Lucky Clover, due out on October 2, 2026, via Take Care Records.
Written by bandleader Fiona Tagami, "So Sweet" was inspired by her return to her childhood home after recovering from surgery. The track explores forgiveness, reconnection, and finding peace, while its official music video follows two distant lovers who discover they share the same reality.
Speaking about the song, Tagami said, "I wrote this song right after spending a week straight in the hospital after complications with a surgery. Once I got out of the bland, grey room, everything seemed brighter and sweeter. I wrote this on the porch of my childhood home in Atlanta."
She continued, "Around then, I ran into someone from high school I had a complicated past with. We hadn't talked since he'd graduated, and we agreed to catch up. We walked down the train tracks surrounded by green trees tucked away from the city. I was reminded why we got along so well, despite everything. I felt like he lived in my same reality. Forgiveness, sweetness. I felt very at peace."
"So Sweet" follows the release of "Bluebells," which arrived earlier this summer alongside the announcement of Lucky Clover. The band also introduced fans to the album earlier this year with "Am I a Knife," the first release following Whisper Doll's signing to Take Care Records. Built around shimmering synths and a driving bassline, the song features one of Tagami's most expressive vocal performances. In the chorus, she sings, "Oh, take me as I am, Oh, you know that you can," while reflecting on feminine desire and identity.
