After a successful summer of releases with singles A Fly On The Wall, Hey Listen, and I Don't Know, Italo-English band VANARIN returns on September 25th with their latest track, Falling Under. This marks the fourth single from their upcoming album, to be released via Dischi Sotteranei.
Known for their minimalist pop approach infused with 2000s-inspired indietronica, VANARIN takes their sound in a fresh, unexpected direction with Falling Under. The band draws inspiration from a blend of artists, combining the hypnotic soulfulness of James Blake and the psychedelic explorations of Tame Impala. From the first listen, the track transports listeners into a dreamlike realm of soulful, groove-infused beats. The bubble-synth effect paired with the multifaceted use of vocoder on David Paysden’s vocals adds a futuristic element, as though the song is echoing from a distant galaxy where Air is playing 70s funk.
Falling Under captivates with its catchy melody, and just as the track immerses listeners into an ethereal space, distorted guitars burst in with a powerful, gritty energy. This unexpected surge of electricity reflects a deeper message within the song: embracing the fragility that connects people, and the comfort found in sharing vulnerability with others. The track conveys that even in moments of surrender, friendship can become a profound source of strength and closeness.
