Last October, the UK indie-grunge Wunderhorse took the stage, at La Maroquinerie, Paris.
The venue was intimate, around 200 people attended the show. When they took the stage, bathed in a kaleidoscope of crimson lights, they delivered a spellbinding performance.
Transitioning seamlessly from Slater's punk roots, Wunderhorse's debut album "Cub" offers a reflective journey through sonic landscapes inspired by the great artists of the 90s. Influences from Jeff Buckley and Radiohead permeate the album, infusing songs like "Mantis" and "Girl Behind The Glass" with a nostalgic allure. Slater's masterful blend of musical influences creates a rich tapestry of sounds and lyrical narratives that resonate deeply with listeners.
Slater's versatile vocals exuded a rawness that personally surprised me. The crowd let loose and moved to the music, igniting spontaneous push pits for songs like "Teal".
