Nearly ten years into their career, Indianapolis alternative band The Wldlfe are settling into a clearer sense of identity. With the release of their new single “Heart” through Riser House Records, the trio continues to sharpen the sound that has carried them from local stages to sold-out rooms across North America.

Made up of vocalist Jansen Hogan, guitarist and vocalist Carson Hogan, and bassist Jack Crane, The Wldlfe have always approached songwriting from different musical perspectives. Their influences stretch from ‘80s rock and modern pop to indie and alternative music, but the band has never sounded caught between styles. Instead, “Heart” shows a group that understands exactly how to bring those elements together without overcomplicating the result.

The release also marks a new chapter professionally. “We’ve learned what matters most now is making the music what we want to make,” says Jansen Hogan. “There’s so much noise about what you should do. And now… we just want to be ourselves and let go of that. Now it’s about doubling down on what we’re actually good at.”

That mindset arrives after years of steady growth. Rather than relying on viral moments, The Wldlfe built their audience through touring, consistency, and direct connection with fans. By the time they released their 2024 album Heaven Is a Place, the momentum had become impossible to ignore.

But even with that success, the band remains grounded in the parts of music that matter most to them. Live shows continue to sit at the centre of their relationship with listeners. For The Wldlfe, connection is still built face-to-face, one performance at a time.

“Heart” captures a band that no longer feels pressured to chase expectations. Instead, The Wldlfe sound dedicated to trusting their instincts and making music that reflects who they are now.
