Rising pop act The Hospital is set to release their debut EP, Trying To Fall Asleep, on Friday, September 13th. Known for their dedication to creating a strong visual identity around their music, the band pairs upbeat, energetic pop sounds with emotive lyrics, capturing the highs and lows of adolescence in 2020.

In a bold departure from the usual pre-release teasers and TikTok-driven trends, the band has chosen to let the music speak for itself. Fans will experience the EP in full on release day, without the build-up of social media snippets or early previews.

Reflecting on their unconventional approach, The Hospital explains, "We don’t want to be teased; we want to listen to good music and watch good music videos." Their decision to skip the traditional hype cycle is a nod to a time when discovering new music felt like a full, immersive experience. The only sneak peek went to a handful of early fans, who were sent a private preview of one track.

The EP itself is a heartfelt exploration of everything that keeps us awake at night—relationships, parties, anxieties—and is filled with upbeat melodies paired with emotional, honest lyrics. On the project’s origin, the band says, "I have a real longing for life... we wanted ‘Trying to Fall Asleep’ to feel like a romanticized memory, dynamic and vivid."

In addition to the music, a series of official music videos will be released on VEVO, beginning with the lead single 'Won’t Waste My Time On You,' out on September 20th. With collaborators like producer Pete Hutchings (Royal Blood) and director Tim Nathan (Royel Otis), The Hospital’s debut promises to deliver a powerful, multi-sensory experience.
