Sumo Cyco Smash Back with New Single “Boring” and Announce Album ‘NEON VOID’

Canadian chaos-makers Sumo Cyco are back to prove that “boring” is not in their vocabulary with their new single “Boring”, a mix of team vocals, driving riffs, and their signature mash-up of metal, punk, and pop mayhem.

Far from its tame title, “Boring” is a rallying cry for anyone feeling stuck in the grind of daily life. “This song is about the challenge to keep the adventure going in the face of routine and the predictable,” says Skye. “Life can feel like a grind, but we always have the choice to be vibrant and push ourselves outside of our comfort zones.”

If “Boring” is anything to go by, their highly anticipated album NEON VOID (out October 24) promises a 12-track journey through the chaos of modern life, from screens shaping our relationships to time feeling like a weapon, and the constant struggle to carve your own path through it all. From the first thunderous chord to the last lingering echo, the record seethes with intensity that grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. Skye’s vocals cut through like lightning, guitars slice with razor-sharp precision, and every beat pulses like a heart racing toward the edge.

“The neon void is temptation and escape. It’s both maze and mirror,” Skye explains. “This record was written when I felt trapped in darkness and needed to build my way back toward something vibrant and alive.”

Produced by Salvatore Sam Guiana (Silverstein, Neck Deep, The Devil Wears Prada) and Drake, and recorded in the band’s converted church studio in Ontario, NEON VOID is a fearless explosion of chaos and colour, the sound of Sumo Cyco kicking down the walls and daring you to follow.
