London-based rock band Stereo Cupid have just released their latest track, “Ready For Nothing”, captivating listeners with roaring guitars and a modern take on the distinctive sound of the 1980s.
Stereo Cupid are the UK’s most explosive new rock band - fast, feral and impossible to ignore, consisting of Ralph (vocals), Match (guitar), Luca (guitar), Bruno (bass) and Zak (drums).
They deliver real, nasty Rock ‘n’ Roll in its purest form. For anyone craving something real - something messy, visceral and loud enough to drown out the noise.
“Ready For Nothing” opens with driving guitar sounds, soon joined by heavy drums that lock in to form a recognisable and instantly gripping instrumental intro. As soon as Ralph’s vocals enter, they garner the main attention.
The chorus gives equal weight to vocals and instruments, before the spotlight shifts back to the guitars with a catchy solo that feels straight out of an ‘80s Rock ‘n’ Roll record - yet unmistakably modern.
Lyrically, the track captures the aftermath of a breakup where your heart gets broken and, somehow, you’re the one left carrying the blame.
I can imagine crowds moving to this song at a live show, perhaps even shaking off memories of their own emotionally manipulative breakups.
The track encapsulates the raw sex and energy of the band - not retro, not recycled, but unmistakably Stereo Cupid!
Alongside the release, they also kick off a residential run every first Saturday at The Blue Post on Berwick Street in London. If you’re around, it’s well worth stopping in and catching them doing what they do best!
My personal take: this is one of Stereo Cupid’s strongest tracks to date, and I can’t wait to experience it live!
