The Los Angeles pop-rock duo Honey Revenge have officially announced their second album, Loving and Losing, arriving September 18 via Thriller Records. If that wasn't enough, the band has also revealed their next single, “Butterfly Effect,” out now.

While Honey Revenge have never been afraid to tackle big feelings, “Butterfly Effect” takes on one of life's most frustrating questions: what if everything changed because of one small decision? The song explores the idea that even the smallest moments can shape where we end up, whether we realise it or not.

Vocalist Devin Papadol explained the inspiration behind the track, saying, “The Butterfly Effect is a concept where small, seemingly insignificant initial changes in events can lead to drastic and unpredictable consequences in the grand scheme of things.” Papadol continued, “There’s an illusion that we as human beings have a choice in our own fate. Try as we might to be in control of every little thing in our lives, sometimes the universe has other plans in mind.”

The song looks at the tension between wanting control and accepting that not everything can be planned. It asks listeners to think about the choices they've made and the paths those choices created. At the same time, it offers a sense of comfort for anyone moving through uncertainty. “It can be comforting in tough times to lean into the idea that our destiny is somewhat predetermined,” Papadol said. “It makes transitional periods easier to power through.”

Rather than providing easy answers, “Butterfly Effect” leaves room for questions. The track focuses on growth, change, relationships, and the versions of ourselves we leave behind as we move forward. Fear, acceptance, doubt, and hope all have a place in the story.

According to Papadol, the single also serves as an introduction to the themes that will define the band's next chapter. “This song and its message embody the themes we’re looking forward to elaborating on and sharing on our sophomore album, Loving and Losing, out September 18th!”

With a new album on the horizon and a fresh single ready to land, Honey Revenge seem ready to open the next page. Listen to the track:
