NYC band Shower Curtain, led by Brazilian-American artist Victoria Winter, has released their haunting new single “Benadryl Man.” The track, an eerie exploration of insomnia and anxiety, blends driving string arrangements and staticky distortion, evoking horror movie vibes. It’s the second single from their upcoming debut album, Words from a Wishing Well, due out October 18 via Angel Tapes/Fire Talk Records.
“‘Benadryl Man’ tells the story of my issues with sleeping and anxiety,” says Winter.
Featuring contributions from violinist Zach Mezzo and cellist Wil Ren, the track creates a sinister, unsettling atmosphere. The official music video, directed by Winter and bassist Cody Hudgins, features artwork by Kati Kirsch and digital worlds inspired by viral Calico Critter TikTok videos.
Shower Curtain’s upcoming album follows their 2021 EP and recent singles, showcasing their evolution from bedroom pop to shoegaze and slowcore.
