YUNGBLUD announces IDOLS

YUNGBLUD returns to center stage. The British rocker has officially launched the era of IDOLS, his fourth studio album and arguably his boldest yet, split into two parts with the first arriving June 20th.

True to form, YUNGBLUD isn’t holding back. After 2022’s self-titled record channeled fury and fire, IDOLS dives straight into the nerves beneath the noise, confronting themes of self-worth, identity, and the need for validation in a hyperconnected world. In his own words, the album confronts how “we turn to others for an identity before turning to ourselves.”

The release is already marked by two very different singles: the expansive, nine-minute epic “Hello Heaven, Hello,” and its punchier follow-up, “Lovesick Lullaby.” Where the former reaches cinematic heights, the latter folds introspection into a Britpop-leaning, hook-heavy anthem. Both reflect a shift, not in genre, but in depth.

The concept of “hero worship” runs through IDOLS, as he tackles the trap of building your self-image from borrowed pieces. “As we grow up, we lose our belief in magic and mystery,” he reflects. “We begin to rationalize everything; our cage walls build up.” That tension — between who we are and who we think we need to be — pulses through every note of this new chapter.

Of course, this is YUNGBLUD. So he’s not doing it alone.

As part of the IDOLS rollout, YUNGBLUD also announced a massive tour kicking off August 23rd in LA, with rising artist Sawyer Hill joining as opener. The run spans coast to coast, wrapping September 21st in Toronto before heading across the Atlantic for the UK/EU leg. Ticket presales begin May 13th via Live Nation and YUNGBLUD’s own mailing list, with general sales opening May 16th via Ticketmaster.

The album, as its title suggests, questions who we idolize and who we allow ourselves to become. Maybe we’re all still figuring it out. But if IDOLS proves anything, it’s that there’s power in the asking.

The revolution is still loud. But now, it’s personal.
