Scene Queen, the pioneering creator of Bimbocore, has rapidly grown her fanbase thanks to TikTok, where her music has resonated deeply with the alternative community, especially among women. Since the release of her hit single "Pink Rover" in March 2022, she has gained more than 800,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
Her unique sound, which oscillates between metalcore and playful, pink-infused tones, tackles serious subjects like minor abuse in the music industry, as explored in her powerful track "18+."
Following the release of her collaborative song "Barbie & Ken" with Set It Off, Scene Queen embarked on a 16-date European tour as support for PVRIS. I had the pleasure of catching her live in Paris at Le Trabendo on May 10th.
Scene Queen entered the stage like a real queen, infusing the crowd with her infectious energy. The audience instantly responded, moving to her dynamic rhythms. Between songs, she interacted with the crowd, even opening a pit—not for moshing, but for her signature "twerkle pit", where she lets the place for those who want to do frenzied twerk or simply move their butts and have fun.
Her energetic performance left the audience drenched in sweat and undoubtedly won over new fans.
Scene Queen’s shows radiate a vibe of women’s empowerment, reflecting the themes of her music. As women, we all crave freedom and the security to be ourselves, and Scene Queen's message resonates powerfully.
I left the room with the impression that Scene Queen holds immense potential in the alternative music scene. She brings a fresh, innovative perspective, and her rise underscores the need for more women in the music industry. With her novelty and message, she’s a force to be reckoned with, and we can't wait to see where she goes next.
