Leicester trio Mouth Culture just released their brand new song “Regret 101” ahead of their Reading and Leeds festival performance, blending ambient and rocky guitar sounds supported by a prominent bass.
Vocalist Jack Voss explains: "Regret 101 is for anybody with any regrets or dirty laundry they haven’t dealt with yet. You can hear the different influences on this one clearly, but we’ve twisted and changed the recipe to make it our own. We’re hoping this is going to be one of the loudest tunes at the upcoming MC dates x"
And I couldn’t agree more! You can definitely hear the different guitar vibes—rock, indie, ambient—you get them all in this song! The first verse starts off a little calmer but builds throughout, leading into a chorus that completely grabs you and makes you want to sing the lyrics out loud if the first listen didn’t already.
The bridge adds an even more emotional layer with its ambient guitar tones and soft vocals.
And the screaming at the end ties it all together perfectly!
It feels like an emotional rollercoaster—wanting to start over while still questioning what happened and feeling regret at the same time. By the end, it leaves you with a sense of understanding for our very own “Regret 101.”
The powerful lyrics and dynamic energy of the track are sure to be shouted back at the band when they take to the hallowed stages of Reading & Leeds Festivals this summer. If you can’t wait until then, catch them on their headline tour this October.
