If you haven’t heard of Valentyne yet, now is a good time to change that. They’re a band I’ve had on repeat recently, mainly because I can’t seem to stop listening to their song “In Your Head", released on August 14. The five-piece have been building their own world of dark stories and gothic imagery, which comes through in their music too.
The track is a great introduction to what Valentyne are about, with a strong energy that makes it really easy to get into. It’s dark and atmospheric, with a hook that sticks with you, while the production keeps the song feeling punchy and modern.
Valentyne describe their music as something to “haunt the head”, which feels pretty fitting, and they have a growing collection of music on Spotify, with tracks including “Hate Me,” “Craving,” “Delora,” “Lovesick,” “No Good,” “Under The Skin,” “Serenity” and “Bloodlight.”
