Leicester-based alt-rock trio Mouth Culture have officially announced their new EP, Whatever The Weather, set to be released on October 4th via InVogue Records. Alongside the EP announcement, the band has unveiled a brand-new track titled 'Everyday', accompanied by a creatively illustrative music video that brings their introspective lyrics to life.
"'Everyday' is a self-reflective anthem that delves into the entrapment of everyday struggles," the band shared in a statement. "Exploring more mature themes around mental health, Everyday is probably the most personal and vulnerable song we have ever written. It’s saturated in nostalgia and nods to shoegaze influences which haven’t been acknowledged on prior releases."
Whatever The Weather follows last year's EP, Mishaps of My Mid Twenties, which was a cathartic release exploring the trials of growing older. The EP struck a chord with listeners worldwide, garnering over a million streams and propelling the band into the spotlight. Reflecting on the journey, frontman Jack Voss admits, "Mishaps of My Mid Twenties came out of such a negative corner. But once you've had the chance to tour something like that and seen people screaming it back at you, something clicks."
For their upcoming EP, the band is channeling the excitement and positivity that comes from their live performances. Bassist Todd Groome explains, "When we were writing, we were picturing how it would feel to play it live. Having so much excitement and positivity around us brought us to a place where we wanted to showcase everything good about what was finally happening for us."
The result is Whatever The Weather, a fresh perspective on the band's experiences, delivering a message of growth and resilience. Where their previous release wrestled with life's growing pains, this new EP celebrates finding a sense of control and thriving despite everyday struggles. It’s a powerful evolution in their sound and attitude, moving from existential questions to empowerment.
Musically, Mouth Culture’s new material dives even deeper into the sound they’ve come to embody. In Whatever The Weather, the band is fully embracing their influences, from the cheeky charm of Lower Than Atlantis to the arena-ready anthems of You Me At Six. Groome expresses the band’s desire to keep experimenting, saying, "We want to try everything. You don't know if something might work until you've tried it, so now is the perfect time in our journey to test it out."
Their upcoming EP promises a fusion of genres, blending British rock with flickers of nu-metal aggression, bubblegum pop glitter, and indie rock earnestness. It’s a diverse mix that mirrors the band’s intent to bring together a wide range of subcultures through their music. "If you can do that with something you have written, that is the power of music at its core. We want Mouth Culture to be something you can find yourself in," Groome adds.
As Mouth Culture prepares to drop their highly anticipated EP, the band is gearing up for a busy tour schedule. They’ve announced a series of headline shows across the UK this November, including their biggest performances to date. Notably, they’ll be playing at the O2 Academy 2 in their hometown of Leicester, as well as major venues in Leeds, Glasgow, and London.

They’ve also been confirmed for the 2025 edition of Slam Dunk Festival, where they’ll perform at both the North and South legs of the festival, a major milestone for the band.
