South Florida metalcore band Love Like Enemies are back with their new single, “Viper (Playing With Fire).” The track is full of heavy guitars and powerful screams that carry a message about believing in yourself and pushing through self-doubt.
According to the band, “Viper (Playing With Fire)” was written as a thank-you to the fans who have supported them throughout their journey. “This is us trying to give the same positive energy back to everyone who pushed and motivated us along the way,” says the band. “Stay true to your dreams. Your words right back to you, be unapologetically you!” The lyrics focus on overcoming negative thoughts, staying true to your goals, and refusing to let fear stand in the way.
Love Like Enemies combines the talents of vocalist Jovan Ferrante and guitarist/vocalist Kalup Gallegos. Their mix of aggressive screams and melodic clean vocals creates a dynamic sound that shifts between different emotions. The band describes this approach as an “atmospheric duality,” giving listeners both intensity and reflection in the same song. “Viper (Playing With Fire)” also features drummer Nathan Love and bassist Javi Sepulveda, the newest member of the group.
