If Not For Me and Wind Walkers Team Up for New Track "Lie Awake"

Pennsylvania metalcore band If Not For Me have released their newest single, "Lie Awake," featuring Wind Walkers via Thriller Records alongside a music video. "Lie Awake" continues the band's rollout for their forthcoming album and explores a relationship that is difficult to leave behind. The track focuses on desire, heartbreak, and the lasting effect someone can have even after they're gone.

Vocalist Patrick Glover said, "'Lie Awake' to me is almost like a spiritual successor to 'Feel Me Now' that takes the story a little deeper. It just feels like such a relatable story that we've all had to go through at one point or another and may even still keep us up at night." That inspiration really shines through. "I think what landed so hard with people in 'Feel Me Now' is the descriptive imagery, so I wanted to play really heavily with that lustful desire in the chorus with lines like ‘feel my hands running down your face’ and ‘did you forget how I made you shake, how I taste’ but then totally contrast it in the back half with ‘does it hurt when you scream my name,’ ‘I’m your pain,’ etc. It just feels like such a relatable story that we’ve all had to go through at one point or another and may even still keep us up at night.”

Wind Walkers vocalist Trevor Borg also shared his thoughts on joining the song. "When the guys in If Not For Me asked me to be part of this song, it felt like a collaboration that had been a long time coming," he said. "They're not only incredible musicians but also genuine friends. Knowing we’ll be hitting the road together this fall makes this release even more special, and I’m grateful they trusted me to be part of such an incredible song."

The two bands will also be touring together this fall, which makes the collaboration even more exciting.
