New Jersey noisegaze band High. is set to release their highly anticipated second EP, Come Back Down, on January 24, 2025, via Kanine Records. Fans can expect the EP on both vinyl and digital formats, with the lead single, “In A Hole”, available now. The track introduces a powerful wall of guitars that echo the raw emotions behind it. It marks the start of a bold chapter for the band, showcasing their heaviest and most emotionally charged work to date.
“In A Hole” draws inspiration from finding community and connection amid hardship. Lead vocalist Christian Castan explains, “It’s about being in a dark place and the people around you pulling you out. There's a line: 'These are the new stars, they burst alive,’ which reflects that feeling of finally finding peace and belonging.” The song is a heartfelt ode to the friendships that helped Castan escape past traumas, and it mirrors the intensity of the band’s musical growth.
Along with the single, High. has released the official music video for “In A Hole,” filmed during a rooftop show in Brooklyn. Directed by Aleko Syntelis, the video captures the band's electric live energy against the backdrop of the NYC skyline. Castan recalls the night fondly: “It was wild—a packed rooftop, New Jersey friends, keg stands, and a New York skyline. We hope the video captures the sense of community and chaos that made it special.”
Come Back Down is the band’s first collaboration with Kanine Records, a key moment in their journey. Known for their explosive mix of noise, melody, and emotion, the band builds on the success of their debut EP Bomber, which will also be featured as the B-side on the vinyl release. The new EP explores deeper themes of loss, love, and recovery with even more sonic intensity.
High. has been on the road throughout 2024, performing alongside bands like DIIV, Soul Blind, and Birthday Girl, with a fall tour bringing them back to the New York and New Jersey DIY scene. The band has established itself as a vital part of the local music community, while gaining recognition across the U.S.
