Heaven Release The Fire You Know

NYC-based power-popgaze trio Heaven is back with The Fire You Know, the second single from their long-awaited third album, Dream Aloud, out April 4, 2025, via Little Cloud Records. Known for their reverb-heavy, feedback-laced dreamscapes, Heaven takes a more orchestral approach this time, swapping their usual walls of guitar noise for sweeping cello arrangements performed by Megan LaMarca (recorded by her husband, The War on Drugs’ Anthony LaMarca). The result? A fever dream of layered melancholia, where hi-hats and string swells hold space for whispered secrets and fading beliefs.

Accompanying the release is a striking music video filmed in Upstate New York’s Nowhere House, a secluded, century-old farmhouse in Narrowsburg. Directed by Jeska Sand, the visuals evoke an eerie winter escape—both literal and metaphorical—into the depths of introspection and the flickering embers of belief. It’s a haunting yet tender portrayal of finding warmth in the cold, stepping into the unknown, and embracing the fire within.

Following last month’s single I Need You More Somehow, The Fire You Know further teases the lush sonic world of Dream Aloud. The upcoming album, mixed by Jonathan Kreinik (The Rapture, Gang Gang Dance) and mastered by Christopher Colbert (The Walkmen, Pedro the Lion), features guest contributions from Steve Schiltz (Longwave, Wah Together) and continues Heaven’s tradition of fusing timeless melodies with hypnotic textures.

Founded by Matt Sumrow and Mikey Jones—both seasoned musicians who’ve played with Swervedriver, The Lemonheads, Ambulance LTD, and more—Heaven has built a reputation for crafting introspective yet expansive soundscapes. Now joined by bassist Sonia Manalili, the band is set to deliver their most atmospheric record yet.
