Fraternal Twin Return With New Album "Halo Fell Forever"

New York’s Fraternal Twin are back with their first full-length album in ten years, Halo Fell Forever. The project, led by Tom Christie and joined by Marco Spodek, Mariah Houston and Forrest Philpot, have spent the last decade building towards this new record, which comes from a difficult period in Christie’s life.

Recorded with producer Dan Howard at Chateau Grand in Brooklyn, the album takes the band's emotional and heavy sound into a more unsettled place. There’s a lot going on across the record, with themes around mental health, toxic relationships and trying to find some kind of renewal after going through difficult times.

Tom Christie explains what went into the album, saying, “This album interacts between past and present selves based on the fact that it is made up of both newer songs as well as some that are a decade old at this point. It also touches quite a bit on toxic relationships, mental health, and self-love.”

One of the tracks from the album is “Medicine”, which looks at trying to find your way back to the person you used to be. The track has fuzzy guitars, big drums and vocals that sit inside the instrumentation, giving it a hazy feeling throughout. Its music video also follows this idea, with Christie appearing in a sun-filled park while vintage-looking footage plays over the top.

The album also opens with “Solitude”, a track which focuses on isolation and being stuck inside your own head. The video sees Christie moving through hotel rooms and hallways, which fits the lonely feeling of the song pretty well.
