Forest is back with another look at her upcoming album Swan Dive, and this time she’s bringing fans the emotional new single “Divine Machine.” The Los Angeles artist will release her new album on September 25, 2026 through AWAL.
“Divine Machine” mixes soft vocals, heavy guitars, electronic sounds, and a steady drumbeat that keeps everything moving. The song focuses on the feeling of staying connected to someone even when you wish you could move on. It feels personal, honest, and it’s one of those songs that sticks in your head after it ends.
Talking about the new single, Forest said: “This song is about feeling tied to a person, and no matter what you do, you feel as if you’ll always be connected. It deals with a very real feeling of not wanting a connection, but always feeling it in the back of your head. I love the idea of being bonded to someone spiritually, and I wanted to express that push and pull throughout the record. The chorus’ ‘I know that he’ll always be there waiting for me’ isn’t a physical statement, but intended to express how you can be waiting for something that might not ever come back.”
Swan Dive will feature ten tracks and continues to show Forest exploring new sounds while keeping the emotional songwriting fans already know. The album includes distorted guitars, electronic production, industrial touches, and moments that let her voice really stand out. From everything released so far, it sounds like this album has a lot of different moods without losing its personal feeling.
