Did Bad Omens Just Tease a New Era?
Bad Omens may have just teased their next era with a cryptic new video featuring Ryan Hurst and a ghostly figure. Here’s what it could mean — and what Noah Sebastian has said about the upcoming album, possibly arriving by the end of the year.

Okay. So, Bad Omens posted a video on Instagram, and if you haven’t seen it yet, go watch it. Now. It’s got the entire fanbase spiralling into theory mode... and for good reason.
It features Ryan Hurst (aka Opie in Sons of Anarchy) talking to a little kid in a ghost costume like a therapist. There is no music, just eerie silence and a weird, kind of emotional conversation. But honestly? This might be one of the most important things they’ve posted in a long time. Let’s break this down.
It opens with Ryan sitting across from a kid wearing a ghost sheet (think Charlie Brown Halloween vibes, but way more unsettling). Ryan says:
“I like your costume.”
“Did you make it yourself?”
The kid nods. Then says:
“Can I leave?”
The kid gets up to leave, but when he looks toward the exit, he stops. He turns and sees someone standing there where he was sitting: another ghost, older, it seems like.
"You said I could leave..."

This comes hot off the heels of those cryptic “goodbye friend” posts they’ve been sprinkling around like breadcrumbs. So yeah… we’re definitely in transitional era territory. The band has been quiet (too quiet), and this feels like the first real signal that something new is coming — or that something old is being buried for good.
There are already a ton of fan theories floating around, and while I won’t go full Reddit thread on you, here are the quick hits:
The ghost = inner child or true self. The kid is him, but also how he feels — unseen, hidden, trying to leave but unable to escape until he faces himself.
Callback to earlier eras. The ghost costume and overall vibe scream self-titled / FGBGFM. Could be hinting at a sonic or thematic return to that era.
A Ghost Story inspo? Yeah, someone brought up the 2017 film, and now I can’t unsee it. Minimalist. Quiet. Existential. Sad. Very on brand.
Vocalist Noah Sebastian straight-up tipped us off in a 2023 episode of Artist Friendly that new music is incoming, with THE OST coming out last year, and the actual follow‑up to The Death of Peace of Mind likely dropping by the end of this year or early 2026, even though he added: “It’s important to me not to rush anything. That’s always a priority, even if it takes me a year or three years. I’m gonna make the best album first."
