The rising alt-pop band daydreamers dropped their fourth single, “Don’t Delete My Number” on August 30th, a track that sequels their viral first release, “Call Me Up”. A four-piece band composed of Riley (vocals, guitar), Aurora (bass), Jay (drums) and Marco (guitar), daydreamers have been taking the alt-pop music scene by storm this last year.
Released via Epic Records/Robots & Humans, their newest single, “Don’t Delete My Number” is an earnestly yearning ballad that downturns the romantic arc of the band’s previous singles, most distinctly their debut track “Call Me Up”, the track that amassed over 3.5 million streams. “Call Me Up” ignited a frenzy on TikTok, gaining acclaim from 1883 Magazine and Far Out Magazine who hailed it as “a true earworm indie track that I bet you’ll be singing to yourself all day.”
He adds: "We want to create a space where people are shouting back their feelings to us and we’re all connecting. Even though the emotions are intense and often overwhelming, we’re all optimistic in the moment because we’re together.”
As you’d expect, the signature soundscapes of heartbreak and nostalgia that daydreamers produce are only amplified at their energetic live shows.
This past weekend, they made their buzzing Reading & Leeds festival debuts and will soon hit the road this autumn in support of fellow UK band Sea Girls, kicking off their first show on September 26th.
Previously, daydreamers have opened for acts like Kings of Leon and Palewaves, even selling out their first-ever headlining gig in London before releasing their debut single.
After saying no to ‘no contact’ with their latest single, “Don’t Delete My Number”, daydreamers are sure to keep fans in the loop with their upcoming releases. In fact, the band have even teased an EP in their most recent Instagram post.
For fans of U2, Bleachers and Harry Styles, daydreamers are certainly a band to keep an eye out for on tour. You can find tickets for their upcoming support shows here.
So, whilst we wait for an official announcement, you can check out “Don’t Delete My Number” by daydreamers on Spotify:
“To me, daydreamers is ‘Sad Euphoria’,” observes Riley. “The lyrics will tear your heart out, but the music is euphoric. It’s built around playing live."
