DARK DIVINE didn’t come out of Orlando trying to be the next big metalcore band. They feel more intentional than that. The sound is heavy, but not just for the sake of being heavy. There’s melody, tension, and a dark atmosphere that sticks with you. Anthony Martinez’s vocals sit right in the middle of it all, backed by Robby Lynch’s sharp guitar work, Cory Scissorhands’ thick bass lines, and Triston Blaize’s driving drums. It’s aggressive, but it knows when to pull back.
That evolution shows clearly on their new single, Permanent, out now via Thriller Records alongside a new music video. The track leans into DARK DIVINE’s darker, more vulnerable side, focusing on the kind of damage a relationship can leave behind long after it’s over. It’s heavy, but not just sonically. The song sits with regret, with memories that don’t fade, even when you want them to.
"Our latest single, ‘Permanent’, illustrates the comparison of a toxic relationship to a bad tattoo. The circumstances surrounding it in the beginning may have been positive, but over time, the memory becomes a permanent stain on not only the body but the mind as well," they say.
The band compares that feeling to a bad tattoo. Something that once felt right, but turns into a permanent mark you can’t fully erase. It’s an idea that fits naturally into the haunted world DARK DIVINE have been building, and it shows they’re willing to get more personal as they move forward.
