Dark Divine Celebrate Undead Melody Release: “This Song Is an Anthem for the Fans”

Dark Divine have officially dropped their sophomore full-length album, Undead Melody, available everywhere now via Thriller Records. The release marks a new chapter for the band as they continue to expand the dark, cinematic sound that has become their signature.
While the album explores complicated relationships between people and the world around them, it also introduces a fresh perspective to the band's songwriting. Drawing from horror-inspired aesthetics, Undead Melody transforms themes of pain, uncertainty, and isolation into an experience that is both immersive and energetic.
According to vocalist Anthony Martinez, the title track ultimately became the foundation for the entire album. "We didn’t write this song with the intention of making the title track of the new record. But, as soon as the words 'undead melody' were written, it instantly felt like we had struck something more than just a chorus," Martinez says. "We had found the theme of the whole damn thing. It just felt different and right."
Martinez explains that the band's early demos focused on darker examinations of personal and societal relationships, but they wanted the record to offer more than a purely sombre experience. "The demos we were writing up until then were dark and pessimistic analyses of relationships between people and the relationships people have with the world around them," he continues. "While we liked the direction these songs were heading, we didn’t want the only energy being created by this record to be sombre and depressing. So we decided to completely flip the vibe on its head and tap into the fun side of the macabre."
Embracing the spirit that has long been part of the band's identity, Dark Divine leaned into a more celebratory approach. "We are a band that has its roots in Halloween. Halloween isn’t just dark. It’s fun. It’s inviting," Martinez adds. "This song is an anthem for the fans. Throw your cares aside and join the party."
