Boston five-piece Cut The Kids In Half have announced their sophomore album, Animals on Angel Dust, arriving December 11, 2026. The band have also shared lead single “Wild Rabbit”, introducing a record that explores restlessness, personal habits and the contradictions of human behaviour.

Led by brothers Jack and Charlie Silver, the band spent over two years working on the eleven-track album. It marks their first project written and recorded as a full band, bringing together Jack and Charlie with guitarist Kevin Mortenson, drummer Luke Tan, and bassist, trumpeter and keyboardist Joey Sorkin. Longtime collaborator Ray Ketchem handled production, mixing and mastering.

Speaking about “Wild Rabbit”, Jack Silver explained the ideas behind the track and the process of bringing it to life: “This is a song about the human paradox,” Jack Silver explains. “We want freedom, but we cling to our habits. We want love, but we settle for flesh. We feed the beast that feeds on us. “Wild Rabbit” is an ode to crookedness. I was chasing a wiry, ramshackle sound. A feeling between panic, fury, and release. The band shelved this song for nearly a year, but that titular line in the chorus kept finding me. It took hold of me one long night in July, as I wondered what made me so restless.”

The new album follows debut What We Became, originally written by the Silver brothers as teenagers and recorded two years before its release. Across more than an hour of music, Animals on Angel Dust moves through different sides of the band's sound, from the expansive opening track “What We Look For Is Gone” to the everyday reflections of “Drinking the Dawn” and “Footsteps”. “Black Rain Blues” and “Arms Et Cetera” explore more unusual territory, while “Thrown to the Dogs” joins “Wild Rabbit” among the record's punchier tracks.
