Chase Atlantic performed their last German concert of their Lost In EUROPE + UK Tour 2K25 and played favourites like “Slow Down,” “Into It,” “Swim,” and “Friends.”
Lead singer Mitchel Cave touched the audience emotionally multiple times during the evening with his gratefulness and mindful words. “We came here to escape reality” was the sentence that stuck with me to this day because it’s true—when you’re attending a concert of an artist you enjoy, you forget about your daily routine for a couple of hours and just enjoy the moment, sometimes even feeling like you’re in a different world.
“Just know that we are here for you forever and always” emphasised such a sense of comfort, initiated by the performance of “BEAUTY IN DEATH.”
Their gratefulness was repeated in Mitchel’s words: “I wish I could see each and every single one of your faces,” while leaning down and covering his face, seeming like he couldn’t believe how many people were there just to see them perform and how far they had come over the past years.
The last time they performed in Cologne was back in 2023, in a venue that fit 2,000 people—and now, not even two whole years later, they sold out the biggest venue in Germany, fitting 20,000 people. They thanked us many times by shouting, “Make some noise for yourself!”
Later on, he thanked us again by saying we are the reason they’re on this stage right now.
It also came to his attention that it was Sunday—not only Sunday, but Easter Sunday—asking us, “Are you ready to go to church?” before initiating a fan favourite, “Church,” while everyone was screaming the lyrics together with the band.
Guitarist and saxophonist Clinton Cave unfortunately couldn’t attend the first concerts of the tour due to an injury, but guitarist Christian Anthony delighted us with some beautiful vocal parts of his, setting the mood together with Mitchel. Their connection felt familiar and trusted, which was beautiful and fulfilling to see and feel!
The mood shifted many times from sentimental to happy and back again. To summarise: the concert was a healing, special, and kind of magical experience that I wouldn’t want to miss!
