Catch Your Breath are keeping their momentum strong with the announcement of their upcoming album Not Broken Enough, set for release on August 28 through Thriller Records. The announcement arrives alongside the release of the band’s new single, “Control,” another emotionally heavy track that continues to explore emotional dependence and personal struggle within a relationship.
This focus on difficult emotions is already part of Catch Your Breath's music, and “Control” continues that direction, capturing the feeling of losing yourself inside a relationship and trying to reclaim your sense of identity before it disappears completely. Vocalist Josh Mowery explained the meaning behind the song:
“This song is for anyone who’s ever given their whole world to someone, only to realise they’ve accidentally handed over the keys to their own prison. It’s about that devastating moment you realise the person who was supposed to be your safe harbour is actually the one keeping your head underwater.”
The new album title, Not Broken Enough, suggests a focus on these emotional conflicts they have slowly been exploring, and “Control” gives us a clearer picture of the album’s emotional direction and intensity.
