Louisiana’s own Cashier are back with another taste of their debut EP The Weight (out March 13, 2026 via Julia’s War Recordings), and it absolutely shreds. New single “Part From Me” is all urgent guitars and heart-on-sleeve intensity, with frontwoman Kylie Gaspard’s vocals cutting clean through the fuzz.
From the jump, it’s clear this one’s built to be played loud. The riffs are big and a little bruised, but still glossy around the edges. There’s a real push-and-pull baked into the song, mirroring the strained relationship at its core. It’s about that almost-connection, the near miss. Like magnets that should snap together but don’t.
“I had a lot of fun writing this song,” Kylie says. “Musically, it’s a love letter to singing, and a celebration of rock guitar. I was trying to find something playful for the verses, and I created this melody that goes back and forth with the guitars. Lyrically, the song seeks connection, exploring the distance between two people; the push and pull of coming back around to each other, but the connection never quite making it - like when two magnets repel - and the invitation to be/not be a part of another person’s life.”
The band are also dropping an official video alongside the single, featuring the four-piece tearing through the track while drenched in warped, psychedelic visuals. It flips between performance shots and slices of daily life, all warped into something hazy and heightened.
