Ahead of their much-anticipated performance with Neck Deep at this week's Heavy Music Awards, Welsh post-hardcore band Casey has unveiled a poignant new video for their song "For Katie." The track, which features on their critically acclaimed album How To Disappear, offers fans an intimate glimpse into the band's life on the road and serves as a deep emotional reflection.
Vocalist Tom Weaver shared the personal inspiration behind "For Katie," revealing that "the song itself was spurred by a single conversation I had with a friend," Weaver said. "She was showing me photos of her and I from high school, and I couldn’t remember anything at all about them. To my eyes, I looked like a completely different, happier person. It drove a sense of worry about how much of my life had been lost to a sadness I’ve never been able to define."
How To Disappear has been lauded for its expansive beauty, with "For Katie" standing out as a powerful track that captures the essence of the band’s emotional depth and introspection. The video complements the song's themes by offering a raw and honest portrayal of life as a touring band, highlighting the challenges and fleeting moments of joy that come with life on the road.
The album can be purchased in two transparent vinyl options—clear and yellow—with the clear edition featuring an alternate sleeve. Additionally, the 'eruption' colorway is available, with or without an exclusive booklet that provides further insight from the band.
