Manchester’s Brain Leak are back with “Moon Eyes,” a fragile, piano-led confessional that feels like someone cracked open their diary, sprinkled it with stardust, and pressed record. Out now, the track gives singer-songwriter Tara Gabriella Engelhardt her full-on “Lana moment,” trading the band’s debut single’s fuzzed-up indie riot for something softer, sadder, and strangely luminous.
“Moon Eyes is the acknowledgment of how people, relationships and dynamics evolve… Sometimes relationships evolve in completely unforeseen ways, leaving you in unfamiliar territory,” Engelhardt explains. “This song is me coming to terms with that change.”
With members hailing from Peaness, Orielles, Working Men’s Club, and Blanketman, Brain Leak blend melancholic tenderness with artistic sisterhood, building songs that shimmer between vulnerability and strength.
If debut single “Trying” lit the fuse, “Moon Eyes” is the quiet glow that follows—intimate, delicate, and devastating in its honesty.
