Bleech 9:3 Arrive Fully Formed on Self-Titled Debut EP

Bleech 9:3 sound like a band that already know exactly who they are on their self-titled debut EP, released today through Polydor Records. Even though this is technically their first major release, the project already feels bigger than a debut, mostly because the band have spent the last year building serious hype through sold-out shows and word-of-mouth alone.

Across the EP, Bleech 9:3 sound loud, not overly polished in a way that feels authentic. This is the exact vibe of the opener, "Jackie", that immediately shows who they are. It is followed by “Underrated”, which carries a lot of tension underneath the hooks.

Then, the singles “Cannonball” and “Ceiling” show why so many people have been talking about the band online recently. There’s something very direct about the songwriting and the delivery that makes the whole project easy to get attached to after one listen. And, having caught them live, I can say that it translates perfectly.

What works best about the EP, though, is the confidence. The band understand how to balance a heavier, emotional writing with tons of energy, which makes them feel raw, alive, immediate, real. Bleech 9:3 are still early into this project, but the reaction around them already feels much bigger than “new band” status, and I understand why.
