Alice Phoebe Lou is entering a whole new chapter. She just announced her sixth album, Oblivion, landing October 24 via Nettwerk Music Group, and it already feels like something special. "After five band records, I’ve opened my treasure chest of personal storytelling songs that I’ve built up over a decade." She shares. "I embarked on the brave and thrilling journey of recording these songs as they are, with love and playfulness, simple and all my own. Leaning into imperfection and taking inspiration from some of my biggest influences who have made timeless folk acoustic albums.”

She’s been tucking these songs away for years, all these offcuts, half-finished thoughts, personal snapshots that didn’t quite fit the vibe of past records. Now, Alice Phoebe Lou is finally dusting them off and letting them breathe. Stripped down and quietly bold, the album leans into the warmth of acoustic guitars, soft vocals, and all the beautiful messiness that comes with telling the truth.

To go with the announcement, she’s shared a new single, “Pretender,” and it hits in that gentle-but-deep kind of way. It’s Alice looking back on her younger self with softness, recognising the armour she once wore and the peace she’s starting to find without it. Lou describes the single as “a loving ode to my younger self, reflecting on who I am and how hard I’ve worked to love her. The way I once used confidence as a shield to mask my insecurities has transformed into allowing my walls to come down as I can finally bask in who I am without the fear of being seen.”
