abandcalledlove. Drop “A Liar!” Ahead of Debut EP Thriving Season

Atlanta indie-pop-rockers abandcalledlove. are back with their infectious new single, “A Liar!”, the first taste of their highly anticipated debut EP Thriving Season, out September 26 via their own Valiant Sound Co.. The track is a whirlwind of alt-rock energy, atmospheric textures, and razor-sharp songwriting that perfectly sets the stage for what’s next from the band.

Formed in 2020 by frontman Ryan Chandler Love and guitarist/producer Ian Joshua Riley, the project quickly grew from a home-studio experiment into one of Atlanta’s most talked-about live acts. With the lineup now rounded out by Blake Aldridge, Brooks Roberts, and Austin Yagle, the band has sold out half of their sixteen performances, shared stages across all four rooms of The Masquerade, and steadily built a fanbase hungry for both their live energy and introspective songwriting.

On “A Liar!”, Riley digs into the messy, complicated side of love:

“If the opening track of the EP is a ‘mission statement’ of sorts denoting what love is, and the second track is an extrapolation of those ideas, then ‘A Liar!’, being track three, is intended to be an antithetical, bastardized representation of ‘love’ experienced while intentionally and genuinely pursuing it. The dialogue-style approach to the lyrics combined with the narrator’s internal monologue in the chorus represents a universally relatable narrative of miscommunication, unmet expectations, and confusion. We wanted the push-and-pull nature of the production to reflect that tension, balancing rock elements with subtle electronics and atmospheric moments leading to the song’s climax.”

The EP itself was produced with Corey Bautista (The Callous Daoboys, Celebrity Therapist) and promises a sonic journey full of soaring melodies, propulsive energy, and emotional honesty.

abandcalledlove. cap off the summer with a live show at Atlanta’s Center Stage on September 25, opening for viral TikTok breakout Cuffing Season, one day before the EP officially drops.
